Manoj Shah, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, has joined the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

Shah will hold the title of Distinguished Professor of Engineering and focus on fostering industry partnerships and introducing new courses on electric machinery to students.

This article was published earlier this month. Mischa Steurer passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues at the Center for Advanced Power Systems and Florida State University.

Gregory Triplett, a FAMU-FSU College of Engineering graduate, was recently named the inaugural dean of Saint Louis University’s School of Science and Engineering.

As he looks toward the future, Triplett can’t help but reflect on the journey.

The grand opening of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Virtual AI Art Museum brought folks across the community, including local leaders, faculty, and administrators, together with students to see how artificial intelligence or AI is affecting our lives in ways we may not have imagined.

“We wanted everyone to have fun, be entertained and feel special, so our students suggested a gala, complete with a red carpet,” Shonda Bernadin, an associate professor in electrical and computer engineering, said.

Students count on the small team of superheroes to support their capstone projects. For many, those projects represent the highlight of their college careers.

Hui Li, an electrical and computer engineering professor at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, and Zhehui Guo, a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Advanced Power Systems, have received the Second Place Prize Paper award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL). 

The paper outlines important advances to make modernizing the nation’s power grid a reality.
