New 3-D Printed Polymer Matrix Composites for Low-Cost Optoelectronic Manufacturing

Researchers at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering are leading a new study to develop perovskite-polymer composites that can be 3-D printed for high-resolution pixelated radiation detectors and other devices, like detector arrays.

Zhibin Yu and Tarik Dickens are associate professors in the joint college’s Department of Industrial and Manufacturing and researchers at the High-Performance Materials Institute.

Engineering Student Earns Gilman Scholarship and Interns in France

Undergraduate Student Spotlight

When Valentina Fajardo heard she earned the Florida State University Benjamin Gilman Scholarship Award, she realized she had become part of the Gilman community. She and 15 other FSU recipients would be able to study and intern abroad.

She is one of two FAMU-FSU College of Engineering students who got the award. Lucas Deininger also received the award.

“I am extremely grateful to be a recipient of this scholarship,” Fajardo said. “It is an honor to have someone believe in my potential and invest in my education.”

Two Engineering Students Receive Ted Rogers- Intuitive Scholars and Fellowship Program Awards

Two students at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering were recently selected to receive the Ted Rogers-Intuitive Scholars and Fellowship Program Award. Solomon Andrews, a fourth-year mechanical engineering undergraduate and JohnPaul Adimonyemma, a doctoral student in industrial and manufacturing engineering, are the newest recipients. 

Several years ago, the college partnered with the Intuitive Foundation to establish the Ted Rogers Scholarship and Fellowship Program.
